About University
Hubei University of Technology
The Hubei University of Technology was originally founded in 1952. In 1984, Hubei Institute of Light Industry unite with Hubei Academy of Agricultural Machinery to form Hubei Polytechnic University and was renamed as the Hubei University of Technology in 2004. The university is a key development university of Hubei Province. It was determined by the Party Committee and the Provincial Government of Hubei Province as a high level, standard-setting, backbone university of the province’s higher education system. In 1986, it gains the qualification to confer Master’s degrees. In 2014, it attained Tier 1 university status. In 2012 and 2016, it successively entered membership of the National Basic Ability Construction Project of Western and Central China Higher Educational Institutions.
Hubei University of Technology covers an area of over 1.06 square kilometers, with a building area of closely 900,000 square meters. It has fully developed supporting facilities and infrastructure for teaching, scientific research, and public services. It has established 14 schools and 1 connected college. It enlists students from a total number of thirty-one provinces, autonomous regions, and municipalities throughout China, and has an enlistment of more than 20,000 full-time students of all types, including more than 2,200 postgraduates.
The Hubei University of Technology is a multidisciplinary university with engineering as a major specialty, covering eight disciplines such as Engineering, Literature, Sciences, Art, Economics, Management, Law, and Education. HUBT has now 62 undergraduate programs, of which four are featured nationally for innovative content, 3 are selected programs of the “Excellent Engineer Scheme” of the Ministry of Education, 8 are branded programs of Hubei Province, 9 are selected programs of “Professional Training Scheme for Strategic Emerging (Backbone) Industries” of Hubei Province, 7 are extensive pilot reform programs of university-industry cooperation proposed by the Ministry of Education, 8 are comprehensive pilot reform programs of Hubei Province, and 1 is a selected program of “Pilot Program for Nurturing excellent Innovative Professionals” of Hubei Province. HUBT has 3 teaching teams that have reached the provincial level of competence. Its program of Civil Engineering has passed the professional assessment of undergraduate programs by the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development. Its program of Mechanical Design and Automation has obtained accreditation from the China Engineering Education Accreditation Association.
Hubei University of Technology has 1 key laboratory accredited by the Ministry of Education, 1 postgraduate innovation center accredited by the Ministry of Education, 1 state-level technology conversion demonstration center, 2 post-doctoral research centers, 2 provincial collaborative innovation centers, 4 provincial key laboratories, 10 provincial engineering technology (research) centers, 2 provincial engineering laboratories, 6 provincial humanities and social sciences key research workshops, and 22 provincial university-industry co-constructed research and development centers. Since 2011, Hubei University of Technology has presided more than 1,600 scientific research programs at the provincial level and above, including 216 national funding programs. It has also initiated and participated in more than 10 major specialized projects under the “973 Program” , the “863 Program”, “National Science and Technology Supporting Scheme”, and the Ministry of Science and Technology. It has earned around 50 awards, such as national and provincial science and technology awards, social sciences awards, development and research awards, as well as awards for excellent investigation achievements. Additionally, it has been qualified of Confidentiality Level 2 for weapon and military equipment research and manufacturing, as well as being accredited in national quality standard for military products. Since 2011, it has been positioned near the top of the ranking list for Science and Technology Service for Economic and Social Development of Hubei Province among provincial higher educational institutions. There has been featured coverage of Hubei University of Technology achievements in scientific and technological conversions by important mass media in China, such as CCTV News and Xinhua News Agency.
Hubei University of Technology holds to the opening-up of its operations and has seen continuous development of the internationalization of education. It has founded cooperative relationships with over 80 universities, colleges and research institutes from more than a dozen countries and regions such as the USA, Germany, France, the UK, Taiwan, etc. It has started 8 international cooperative programs of undergraduate and postgraduate levels, with approximately 1300 full-time students. Additionally, it has enlisted more than 500 international students. Hubei University of Technology has established six international joint scientific research platforms (centers), such as Phillips Hydrophilic Colloid Research Center of Hubei University of Technology, Sino-American Energy Research Center of HUBT Sino-French Civic Sustainable Development Platform of Hubei University of Technology and so on.

Expenses in Hubei University of Technology

After you are admitted, we will inform you via email for your confirmation of acceptance. Afterward, we will issue the admission letter, JW201/202 Form for visa application. If you wish to live on the campus, please complete the Housing Application form.
Prepare Your Departure:
Before your departure, be sure to take the following materials:

(4) Official Foreigner Physical Examination Form and your blood test report.
Be aware that the orientation is mandatory for freshman students.
Admission Procedure
Apply for a course in a Chinese University is very easy. Students just have to follow some steps to apply for their favorite course. In order to help students complete their online application, International students are recommended to follow the simple instructions.
Foreign applicants must provide the following documents to apply:
1. Application Form fills in Chinese or in English.
2. Passport & Passport Size Photo (Scan copy )
- Passport
Dear student, the first thing you need to have a passport. This is more important documents because without a passport you can not go to study in your dream country. To have passport make you secure to live or study abroad. So if you don’t have it, we suggest you make your passport ready from the embassy office in your home country. Moreover if you have your passport already, then make sure your passport expiry date will not be expired. If it already be expired then you need to remake your passport.
- Passport Size Photo
The passport photo size (50mm x 40mm) in general. The photo should be clear and the background must be plain, white or off-white in color. The height of the head should be between 28mm – 33mm.The head width has to be between 21mm–24mm. Submit a color photo, taken in the last 6 months. Use a clear image of your face. Passport photo should not use filters on the face or take your photo from someone else or selfies. Take off your eyeglasses for your photo. Here is the sample of Passport Size Photo.
3. Transcripts & Certificates (Must be Notarized Copy )
Students for Bachelor Degree need to provide their school transcripts and certificates. For Master Degree Applicants have to bring their undergraduate transcripts and certificates. And Doctorate Degree studies must provide their both (undergraduate and graduate) transcripts and certificates.
Please take as a note that is, all the transcripts and certificates should be notarized.
Note : Transcripts in languages other than Chinese or English must be attached with translations in Chinese or English.
4. English Proficiency Certificate
In China, some universities does not asked IELTS but if you study in Chinese Taught for CSC scholarship, English Proficiency Certificate need to have ready. If you have IELTS already then you are lucky to study in China without delay.
5. CV/Resume
Applicants must have to prepare their CV if they want to study abroad in their desired country. The Resume or CV should include their academic qualifications with results, personal details (name, date of birth, marital status, national Id or school Id, physical address, contact no, nationality, language, etc), reference from your institution’s faculty (his/her name, address and designation), personal achievement, etc. To know how to make a standard CV please click here the sample of The Resume.
6. Study Plan or Research Proposal (Ms/PhD)
Applicants for graduate studies need a study plan or research proposal in Chinese or in English (no less than 800 words). This document is required only for Ms or PhD applicants.
7. Recommendation Letter (Ms/PhD)
Applicants for all graduate studies need two letters of recommendation from full professors or associate professors (in Chinese or English). Letters must be include professors’ phone number and email address. Here is the sample of Recommendation Letter.
8. Published Academic Papers or Other Academic Achievements (if applicable).
9. Foreign Physical Examination
Applicants are expected to keep the original copies filled in English. The medical examination must cover all the items listed in the Foreigner Physical Examination Form. Incomplete records or those without the signature of the attending physician, the official stamp of the hospital or a sealed photograph of the applicants are invalid. 10. Bank Statement
Bank statements must show to any foreign country for the purpose of a visitor or a business or an immigrants. For the study purpose in foreign countries also need to show bank statement. So dear applicants, you will need to have ready your all documents. Sponsorship can be your parents or anyone whom are your blood related.
11. Police Verification (No Criminal Record)
This is also need to have ready for the study purpose. It is important because foreign country does not allow criminal record. A Police Clearance Certificate is an official document approved by the police or government agencies in order to prove that the applicant has no criminal offense against him/her like arrest, conviction. The Hubei University of Technology is located in Wuhan, the provincial capital of Hubei. As a famous historical and cultural city of China, Wuhan has the biggest college student population among major cities of the world. HBUT is a multi-discipline university with Engineering as its specialty, and covering other disciplines such as Liberal Arts, Science, Economics, Management, Law and Education. The university was originally established in 1952 as Hubei Academy of Agricultural Machinery.
In 1984, it merged with Hubei Institute of Light Industry to form Hubei Polytechnic Institute and was renamed as Hubei University of Technology in 2004. The university has an area of over 1.06 km² and a floor area of more than 900,000 m². It has complete teaching, research, entertainment, sports and logistics facilities, basic and professional laboratories. The library is the biggest (46,000 m² ) of all higher education colleges of Hubei and has a large inventory of books and digital resources. HBUT has Light Industry Faculty which consists of 5 schools, plus another 13 schools, 60 majors, 18 class-one master’s degree accreditation programs, and 75 class-two master’s degree accreditation programs. Student admission is available to 31 provinces, autonomous regions, and directly-controlled municipalities of the nation. HBUT has over 20,000 full-time students. The university has 1,200 full-time teachers including 530 professors and assistant professors, 483 postgraduate student tutors and doctoral student tutors. The university also employs over 200 domestic and foreign part-time professors from famous universities, research institutes, and large enterprises at home and abroad.
In recent years, the university has adhered to the strategy of supporting the development of green industries and the green development of traditional industries and implements the green-industry oriented discipline development strategy.
The university has produced several academic journals, including China Mechanical Engineering, Hubei Agricultural Machinery, Journal of Hubei University of Technology, and others.
