Jilin Agricultural Science and Technology College is a century-old university with a long history. The history of running a school can be traced back to the Jilin Medium Agricultural School established in 1907. In October 2003, the Agricultural Technology College of Beihua University (Jilin Agricultural School) was incorporated into the Jilin Specialized College. In May 2004, with the approval of the MOE, the newly formed Jilin Specialized College was upgraded to a full-time undergraduate college and renamed Jilin Agricultural Science and Technology College.
Jilin Agricultural Science And Technology University has 2 campuses like Jiuzhan and Zuojia, covering an area of 1.98 million square meters and a construction area of 349,000 square meters. The total value of teaching and research equipment is 151 million yuan. There are 1.01 million books in foreign languages in the library, with a total of 602,000 electronic books, 19 Chinese and foreign literature databases, and more than 3,100 wild animal and plant specimens collected in the museum.
The school has 9 schools and departments are economic management, animal science and technology, Chinese medicine, agriculture, biology and pharmaceutical engineering, food engineering, electrical and information engineering, mechanical and civil engineering, and foreign language (international exchange) colleges. And teaching institutions such as the Marxist Academy, the Department of Physical Education, and the School of Continuing Education. The school recruits students from 28 provinces and cities across the country.
There are 11,940 regular students, as well as 10,172 undergraduates and 1,768 undergraduates, and more than 1,000 students continue to be educated. In 2015, it was identified by the Jilin Provincial Department of Education as the first batch of joint pilot units for joint training of graduate students. The school has 854 faculty members, including 69 professors and 218 associate professors, 142 doctors (including reading), 542 masters, and 241 “double-skilled” teachers.
The school has 45 undergraduate majors and 15 specialties, with agronomy (specialties) as its advantages and characteristics, covering 6 disciplines: engineering, agriculture, culture, science, economics and management. The school has 3 provincial-level characteristic superior disciplines, 1 national-level specialty, 1 national-level professional comprehensive reform test point, 1 national-level excellent agricultural and forestry personnel education training plan reform pilot, and provincial-level high-level professional 4 There are 2 provincial-level brand majors and 5 provincial-level quality online courses, which form a discipline professional system that closely links the industrial chain innovation chain. He won one second prize for national teaching achievements and 4 first prizes for provincial teaching achievements.
The school has 14 provincial-level scientific research platforms, including one provincial agricultural product testing center. In recent years, it has undertaken more than 600 scientific research projects, including 6 National Natural Science Foundations, 1 Science and Technology Department’s Fengliang Project, 5 Ministry of Science and Technology Agricultural Science and Technology Achievements Transformation Funds, and more than 1,000 core and search papers.
The school implements the “one guide, two divisions and three guarantees” education model, and builds an employment service platform with the Xiamen Talent Service Center. JASTU has signed a graduate employment cooperation agreement with more than 400 domestic large and medium-sized enterprises, and has established a Jilin University student innovation. The entrepreneurial training base, the quality of graduates’ employment has been continuously improved, and the employment rate of graduates in the past three years is closely 90%.
The school strongly carries out international education exchanges and cooperation. It has established cooperative relations with 30 colleges and universities in 12 countries and regions such as the United States and South Korea. It has selected outstanding teachers and students to go abroad for study and cultural exchange activities, closely 300 foreign students have gone abroad to work with Gyeongnam University in South Korea to carry out undergraduate programs in Chinese and foreign cooperation, and received 16 international students from 8 countries including Central Asia and Africa.

Admission Procedure
Apply for a course in a Chinese University is very easy. Students just have to follow some steps to apply for their favorite course. In order to help students complete their online application, International students are recommended to follow the following simple instructions. International applicants must provide the following documents to apply:
1. Application Form fills in Chinese or in English.
2. Passport & Passport Size Photo (Scan copy of the applicant’s )
3. Transcripts & Certificates (Must be Notarized Copy )
For Bachelor Degree applicants, they need to only provide high school transcripts and certificates. And for Master Degree applicants, they need to show their undergraduate transcripts and certificates. Applicants for Doctorate Degree have to provide their both (undergraduate and graduate) transcripts and certificates.
- All the applicants degree (Bachelor, Masters and Doctorate) transcripts and certificates should be notarized and language should be in Chinese or English version.
4. English Proficiency Certificate
In China, some universities does not asked IELTS but if you study in Chinese Taught for CSC scholarship, English Proficiency Certificate need to have ready. If you have IELTS already then you are lucky to study in China without delay.
5. CV/Resume
Applicants must have to make their CV if you want to study abroad in your desired country. 6. Study Plan or Research Proposal
Applicants for graduate studies need a study plan or research proposal in Chinese or in English (no less than 800 words). This document required only for Ms or PhD applicants.
7. Recommendation Letter
Applicants for all graduate studies need two letters of recommendation from full professors or associate professors (in Chinese or English). Letters must be include professors’ phone number and email address. Here is the sample of Recommendation Letter
8. Published Academic Papers or Other Academic Achievements (if applicable).
9. Foreign Physical Examination
Applicants are expected to keep the original copies filled in English. The medical examination must cover all the items listed in the Foreigner Physical Examination Form. Incomplete records or those without the signature of the attending physician, the official stamp of the hospital or a sealed photograph of the applicants are invalid. 10. Bank Statement
Bank statements must show to any foreign country for the purpose of a visitor or a business or an immigrants. For the study purpose in foreign countries also need to show bank statement. So dear applicants, you will need to have ready your all documents. Sponsorship can be your parents or anyone whom are your blood related.
11. Police Verification (No Criminal Record)
This is also need to have ready for the study purpose. It is important because foreign country does not allow criminal record. A Police Clearance Certificate is an official document approved by the police or government agencies in order to prove that the applicant has no criminal offense against him/her like arrest, conviction. Jilin Agricultural Science and Technology College was established in 1907. It is a higher education institution situated in the large city of Jilin (population range of 1,000,000-5,000,000 inhabitants). Officially recognized by the Department of Education, Jilin Province. Jilin Agricultural Science and Technology College is a coeducational institution. It offers courses and programs leading to officially accredited higher education degrees such as bachelor degrees in several areas of study.
The University is a provincial full-time public university. It is situated in Jilin City known as “Rime Metropolis”. The northern campus region of the university stands at Zuojia Nature Reserve, and the Southern region stands at the Economic and Technological Development Area of Jilin City. JASTU is selected as comprehensive pilot reform university by the MOE and pilot institution of national excellent agricultural and forestry personnel programme. It ranks among the first batch of integral pilot institutions in Jilin Province.
Jilin Agricultural Science And Technology University covers 1.98 million square meters with a total floor space of over 313,000m². The total value of teaching equipment won 126 million RMB and the asset value for the year of 2016 is 888 million RMB. The collection of JASTU’s library is around 960,000 volumes including 650,000 digital books. The library has 19 Chinese and Foreign databases and about 3000 various kinds of wild fauna and flora specimens for its museum.
The university comprises 13 academic colleges, as well as 43 undergraduate majors and 16 vocational majors. It is furnished with 3 key disciplines at provincial level, 1 key discipline at national level, 1 comprehensive pilot discipline at national level, 1 national pilot discipline focusing on excellent agricultural and forestry education and 2 excellent engineering disciplines at provincial level. There are around 766 faculty members in total, among them 67 are professors and 185 are associate professors. It has over 12,100 regular students and about 600 adult education correspondence students.
At the present time, the university has formed its agricultural specialty and advantage and developed its school pattern as a harmonious unity of different disciplines including science, industry, economics, management and liberal arts. Jilin Agricultural Science and Technology University is always maintained an open and developing strategy to enlarge school-operating space. In the year of 2016, the undergraduate program–mechanical manufacturing and automation, which was co-conducted by Jilin Agricultural Science and Technology University and Korean Kyungnam University, finally got approved by the Ministry of Education.
