As an honored provider of medical education, China offers 49 medical schools where you can study medicine in English as an international student. With more than 10,000 medical students choosing China for their better education within low cost.

1)  Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery ( MBBS)

Medical Line is quite hard as compared to Engineering Field. A Medical Degree is not an easy field. MBBS is an acronym, which  stands for Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery, the abbreviation comes from Latin words in full means Medicinae Baccalaureus, Baccalaureus Chirurgiae ( abbreviated in many ways, e.g. MBBS, MB BChir (Cantab), MBChB, MBBCh,  BM BCh (Oxon), BMBS). The recent report from the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China showed that 52 universities have been approved to enlist and deliver undergraduate medical education or MBBS for foreign students with English as medium instruction language.

This is a large  opportunity for international students to come to take their MBBS education in the country with good foundation and quick development in every sector. Medical schools in China are acknowledged  by the World Health Organization and China Medical education is ranked at 4th by recent WHO survey, Medical degree recognized globally. As the 2nd largest economy in the world, China also has become the 3rd largest destination country for international students overseas studies after USA and UK.

Previous observations showed that most of the students who pursued MBBS course in MBBS Medical Schools, MBBS Colleges in China, they easily succeed medical practice examination when they return in their home country, this gives them the right to start practicing their noble career because after passing such exam they get registration number.  Studying in the medical schools which met the international standards is a lead for that success.

They are reasons and factors behind the rising number of international students who join the MBBS program in various medical colleges here in China, the following are the documented factors provided by some MBBS students at MBBS Medical Universities in China, to get those information numerous students have participated in quick qualitative interview composed only by one question “Briefly what are the main reasons which makes you pursue MBBS in China?

Low Cost

The first reason mentioned by interviewed MBBS students is the lower MBBS fee and cost, to explain these most students compare the tuition fees here in China and tuition fees in their home country where they said that medical MBBS education is very costly in their home country and their parents could not afford the tuition fee and other related expenses. But in China living cost  is less expensive compared to their home countries. Bearable tuition fee for medical education in China gives most young people from all over the world hope of getting their everyday dream of becoming a medical doctor.

Scholarship Opportunities

Another factor mentioned by most of the students is that in China when you get good grades you can get an MBBS scholarship or some fee waiver within your studies. Studying MBBS in China could be seen as a benefit to gain  a scholarship for postgraduate studies in China because a student is already familiar with Chinese medical education system and familiar with the living style and the environment in general.

Today the numbers of international students who join MBBS program have been raised, this will continue if the medical universities here in China continue to maintain and improve the quality of medical education that they give to their students.  MBBS program in Medical colleges allow students to do their hospital habitation or medical rotation in China or their home countries, this is done to show that the students have an ability to perform well in their medical practice everywhere in the world.

Future Perspective

Medical schools with MBBS English program give Chinese language course for all international students, this is viewed as an addition to medical skills, because better understanding of Chinese language guide them to better practice or Internship in the hospital in China, where they can easily communicate with the patients, and provide a good treatment based on the patient’s condition. Not only here in China, as we know Chinese business including those in medical/ health province are now growing and expanding all over the world, and an MBBS international medical graduates who had studied in China will also have a strong ability to work with Chinese in the medical field in their home country or elsewhere.

2)  Human Immunology

The immune system refers to a collection of cells and proteins that function to protect the skin, respiratory passages, intestinal tract and other areas from foreign antigens, such as microbes (organisms like bacteria, fungi, and parasites), viruses, cancer cells, and toxins. Current advances in translational, clinical and mechanistic research provides evidence for the modulation of immune responses by foods, dietary ingredients, and natural products. The purpose of the Immunology course is to prepare a basic knowledge of the immune response and on the mechanisms by which exposure to dietary components affect the balance between pro-inflammatory and regulatory immune responses. The main will be on human health and biomedical applications.

The course will focus on:

  • Basic aspects of immunology
  • Basic aspects of a mucosal immune system in the gut
  • Immune-related disorders in humans
  • The impact of various dietary components on the immune system
  • Test systems enabling detection of immunomodulatory activity

Monitoring human immune responses

Immuno-monitoring is nowadays performed through a variety of molecular and cellular approaches, involving an array of cutting-edge technologies. This is key for human translational medicine studies on infectious diseases, epidemic outbreaks, vaccine trials, vaccination follow up, etc. The goal of this practical course is to introduce students to investigate a research subject through a variety of state of the art experimental approaches, and to sharpen them to translational medicine studies. The task of the Department of Immunology is to unravel the mechanisms of this system so that they can understand why some diseases emerge, in order to come up with new strategies to tackle them and pave the way for the development of new vaccines. This passion for immunology finds its roots in the very early days of the Institut Pasteur when the rabies vaccine was developed (Pasteur, 1885) and the first descriptions of the immune system were published (Metchnikoff, winner of the 1908 Nobel Prize for his work at the Institut Pasteur).

A lot of teams in this research department are investigating the development of the immune system. Some of the department’s scientists examine how the immune system develops in embryos, newborns and adults. Others examine the billions of microbes in the human body (known as the microbiota), which play an important role in the development of immunity, with the aim of understanding how the body lives with or fight against these microbes. Helps improve human health. Prepare for a career researching & developing new clinical treatments such as vaccines and drug therapies, or take your skills into health policy or management. You will study advanced immunological theory and techniques and train in clinical trial design and practice. Progress your oral and written communication skills while you study and produce a research paper intended for publication.

 Learning outcomes:

After successful completion of this course, the student is expected to be able to:

  1. Define and memorize the basic aspects of immune defense reactions against pathogens and the basis of the development of immune-related diseases; Define and memorize the principles of the gut-associated mucosal immune system;
  2. Understand the basic mechanisms of action whereby dietary components can modulate immune function with consequences for the overall health of the individual;
  3. Apply the theoretical and practical knowledge acquired during the course to resolve real-life case-related questions; Have basic knowledge about how to test for immune activity of nutrition.

The course will prepare you for a range of senior roles in health research. You might work in a hospital, private research institute, diagnostic laboratory or pharmaceutical company, or for a government agency involved in health policy or delivery.

3)  Medical Parasitology:

Medical Parasitology belongs to Pathogenic Biology and it is one of the basic courses of preventive medicine and clinical medicine. It is scientific research on a pathogenic mechanism, biology, ecology, experimental diagnosis and epidemic regularity and prevention of human parasitic diseases pathogeny. Parasitology must show the following areas with theory and combination of theory and practice: the parasite into the human or animal, then putting in place the parasitic relationship, a prevalence of parasitic diseases and compression, control to the end of the extensiveness of parasitic diseases. In order to gain the goal of “everyone has healthcare in 2000”, put forward by the WHO, the prevention and control of parasitic diseases have to carried out inclusively and constantly. It is an important task for the parasites & medical workers to learn, master and update the theory, knowledge, and technology of the parasites.

4)  Maternal and Child Health Care:

Maternal and child care remains the most tricky and essential subject in the healthcare system in the United States or any other country in the world. The Maternal and Child Health Experts play a vital role in providing those services, which serve the interests of the mother as well as the child. Oral medicine and stomatology training in dental school is usually focused around nonsurgical controlling of oral symptoms of systemic diseases, oral mucosal lesions, and other oral conditions not combine with the teeth. Stomatology ( Oral Medicine) is evolved from the Dentistry of a study of human teeth and dentition, oral soft and hard tissue and maxillofacial, neck diseases of different disciplines,separated into two parts of basic medicine and clinical medicine. Including oral medicine, oral and maxillofacial surgery, orthodontics,oral prosthetics,children’s oral science, oral prevention.

Stomatology is a medical discipline which covers the study of the mouth. Historically it was recognized as a medical specialty in many provinces of the world, though now people are more likely to refer to stomatology as “dental medicine,” depending on where they are located. In some countries, it is still possible to specialize in stomatology as a discipline different from dentistry. The practice of stomatology also includes performing a variety of procedures in the mouth. At the time of  their training, stomatologists have a chance to watch and practice a wide range of oral policy so that they can learn to do them safely, correctly and fast. Things like tooth removal, gum grafts & fillings can all fall under the heading of the practice of stomatology. The study of stomatology also includes the application of knowledge from this field to forensics, to find out victims, criminals, and other people who are involved in forensic cases.

This discipline can be a bit broad, and there are a number of settings in which it can be applied including classrooms, hospitals,clinics, and forensic facilities. The length of time spent studying stomatology can vary, based on where someone decides to work and what kind of practice he or she is interested in. As a common rule, people should plan on being in school for at least ten years to study stomatology and pursue a professional career in this field, including undergraduate work along with medical education,occupation, fellowships, and postgraduate work.
