Northeast Petroleum University
Northeast Petroleum University is one of China’s National Key University. The school is dedicated to the center of engineering studies and research that offers courses in several disciplines such as science, business administration, literature, law, and education.
NEPU was in the first batch of university, which are qualified to the Educational Department of the People’s Republic of China’s requirements to offer admissions to international students. Northeast Petroleum University’s main campus is situated in the city of Daqing in Heilongjiang province, its branch campus placed in Qinhuangdao, Hebei province.
In Heilongjiang province, Daqing is the city of national civilization and the charm of China. Daqing city has an amazing environment and also has a convenient transportation. It is famous for its green oil capital, the natural 100 of Lakes city, the hometown of hot springs in north China”. Daqing is known for the largest oil field in China and the Daqing oilfield, one of the 10 largest oil fields in the world. The city is known as a famous industrial city with petroleum and petrochemical industry as its pillar industry.
Northeast Petroleum University established in 1960, it has 2216 members of staff and 23,025 regular students. NEPU has 64 undergraduate disciplines, among them 8 are national level featured disciplines, 1 national level comprehensive reform trial discipline, and 19 provincial level disciplines. It has also 1 post-doctoral research workshop; 21 disciplines granting doctoral degrees, 4 post-doctoral research stations, 89 disciplines granting master degrees and, 4 disciplines granting professional master degrees in business administration (MBA), social work, accounting, and engineering.
In the year of 2016, the engineering course succeeded in the top 1% of university ESI scores. The school covers an area of 1,691,400 square meters, of which 333,000 square meters are part of our Qinhuangdao branch campus. It has around 10 GB campus network, a library approximately 2,550,500 books, and a national level university science and research center.
NEPU has a teacher training, academic exchange, educational reform, and a research cooperation and it was established fruitful cooperation with over 30 universities as well as Technical University of Clausthal (German), American Missouri University of Science and Technology, Waseda University (Japan), University of New South Wales (Australia), New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology, University of Calgary (Canada), Russian Kuban State Technological University,Tyumen Institute of Technology, Korean Kangwon National University, and Oil & Gas University of Ploiești (Romania).

Fees Details
Expenses in Northeast Petroleum University
1. Tuition Fee:
- Non Degree: 3,500 to 16,000 RMB
- Bachelor Degree: 16,000 to 20,000 RMB/year
- Master Degree: 20,000 to 24,000 RMB/year
2. Service Fee: 50 USD
3. Dormitory Fee:
- Single Room: 9000 RMB/year.
- Double Room: 6000 RMB/year.

4. Living Cost: 100 to 200 RMB/Month
After you are admitted, we will inform you via email for your confirmation of acceptance. Afterward, we will issue the admission letter, JW201/202 Form for visa application. If you wish to live on campus, please complete the Housing Application form.
Prepare Your Departure:
Before your departure, be sure to take the following materials:
(1) The Admission Letter
(2) Passport (valid for at least 6 months).
(3) JW201/202 Form
(4) Official Foreigner Physical Examination Form and your blood test report.
Be aware that the orientation is mandatory for freshman students.
Admission Procedure
Apply for a course in a Chinese University is very easy. Students just have to follow some steps to apply for their favorite course. In order to help students complete their online application, International students are recommended to follow the following simple instructions. International applicants must provide the following documents to apply:
1. Application Form fills in Chinese or in English.
2. Passport & Passport Size Photo (Scan copy of the applicant’s )
3. Transcripts & Certificates (Must be Notarized Copy )
For Bachelor Degree applicants, they need to only provide high school transcripts and certificates. And for Master Degree applicants, they need to show their undergraduate transcripts and certificates. Applicants for Doctorate Degree have to provide their both (undergraduate and graduate) transcripts and certificates.
- All the applicants degree (Bachelor, Masters and Doctorate) transcripts and certificates should be notarized and language should be in Chinese or English version.
4. English Proficiency Certificate
In China, some universities does not asked IELTS but if you study in Chinese Taught for CSC scholarship, English Proficiency Certificate need to have ready. If you have IELTS already then you are lucky to study in China without delay.
5. CV/Resume
Applicants must have to make their CV if you want to study abroad in your desired country. In your Resume or CV, there have to be your academic qualifications with results, personal details (name, date of birth, marital status, national Id or school Id, physical address, contact no, nationality, language, etc), reference from your institution’s faculty (his/her name, address and designation), personal achievement, etc. To know how to make a standard CV please click here the sample of The Resume.
6. Study Plan or Research Proposal
Applicants for graduate studies need a study plan or research proposal in Chinese or in English (no less than 800 words). This document required only for Ms or PhD applicants.
7. Recommendation Letter
Applicants for all graduate studies need two letters of recommendation from full professors or associate professors (in Chinese or English). Letters must be include professors’ phone number and email address. Here is the sample of Recommendation Letter
8. Published Academic Papers or Other Academic Achievements (if applicable).
9. Foreign Physical Examination
Applicants are expected to keep the original copies filled in English. The medical examination must cover all the items listed in the Foreigner Physical Examination Form. Incomplete records or those without the signature of the attending physician, the official stamp of the hospital or a sealed photograph of the applicants are invalid. 10. Bank Statement
Bank statements must show to any foreign country for the purpose of a visitor or a business or an immigrants. For the study purpose in foreign countries also need to show bank statement. So dear applicants, you will need to have ready your all documents. Sponsorship can be your parents or anyone whom are your blood related.
11. Police Verification (No Criminal Record)
This is also need to have ready for the study purpose. It is important because foreign country does not allow criminal record. A Police Clearance Certificate is an official document approved by the police or government agencies in order to prove that the applicant has no criminal offense against him/her like arrest, conviction. Northeast Petroleum University placed in the city of Daqing in China’s northeast Heilongjiang Province. Daqing is a prosperous, enlightened, beautiful and high technology modern city in Songnen Plain, next to the ice city Harbin. The area of the city is about 5,107 square kilometers, with a population of 1.04 million. Daqing, North dialects area in China, it provides sensible mandarin atmosphere for learners.
The University is located in a college town, the political, cultural and business center of the city. To the south is that the development region, and to the north lies the Liming Lake. The school covers an area of about 1,503,000 square meters with wide and bright road lined with green trees, providing a quiet and cozy studying and living environment for the students at home and abroad.
There are 20-odd multimedia classrooms, as well as a pc centers, a well equipped electrical audio-visual instruction laboratorys and a specialised language lab. The university has a 45,000 square meters library with a collection of 2,110,000 books and electrical library system. Facilities for various styles of sports such as basketball, volleyball, tennis, ping-pong, soccer, etc are all available.
Around the school, there are Bank of China and Bank of communications. They provide train and air tickets booking service. In the west across the road is the 5th hospital connected to Harbin Medical University, it’s very convenient for students to see a doctor. In addition, post office, bookstore, shops, supermarkets and laundry are available within a short distance. Transportation here is exceptionally sensible, creating it terribly convenient for students.
They can take Bus No.25, 35 and 225 directly to the train station. Harbin city is 2 hours away locomote by train or coach. There are several scenic spots close to Daqing city, just like the Lindian Spring, Shoushan Holiday Village, Honghu Tourism Area, Longfeng Marsh Nature Conservation Area, Harbin Sun Island, Ice lights, Yabuli Ski park, Qiqihar Crane Town, etc.
