The ancestor of Medical College of Shihezi University is the Chinese people’s Liberation Army First Corps Health School, founded in 1949 in Tianshui, Gansu Province. In 1949, October, it moved to Xinjiang, went through the Xinjiang Military Region Health School, Shihezi Medical College, the Corps Medical College, Regiment Medical College, Medical College of Shihezi University several stages of development. In the year of 1996, Original Shihezi Medical College, College of Agriculture, College of Higher Economic Corps, Corps Higher Normal College merged and formed into Shihezi University, the College changed its name for the Medical College of Shihezi University. Over the last 50 years, the school has cultivate 17000 medical and health technical personnel at all levels, made contribution to the progress of society and development of local and national medical and health undertakings.
Medical College of Shihezi University has six bachelor degrees including clinical medicine, nursing & preventive medicine, oral medicine, medical imaging science and medical test, among which clinical medical is characteristic specialty, and on the basis of clinical medical specialty, the school opens undergraduate professional direction like pathological diagnosis, anesthesiology etc. Today the college has two independent district level excellent courses, 3 corps level courses, 3 corps level key disciplines, 14 university courses and 7 university key disciplines.

Medical College of Shihezi University carries out extensive exchanges and cooperation, has established intercollegiate exchanges and cooperation relations with well-known medical institutions such as Peking University Medical Department, Tongji Medical College, Huazhong University of science and technology, Wuhan University Medical College, Zhejiang University Medical College. The university is also established a long-term cooperative relationship with colleges and universities such as American John Hopkins University Laboratory of molecular medicine and the University of Alabama. The first thing you must need to have a passport. This is a very essential document because without a passport you can not go abroad or your dream country where you want to study or live. To have a passport makes you feel secure to live. So if you don’t have it yet, we advise you to make your passport ready from the embassy office in your home country as soon as possible. The general size of the passport size photo is (50mm x 40mm). Applying for admission, your passport size photo should be clear and the background must be plain, white or off-white in color. The height of the head has to be between 28mm – 33mm and head width has to be between 21mm–24mm. Advice to submit a color photo which is taken in the last 6 months. Use a clear picture of your face. If you are interested to apply for Bachelor’s Degree you need to provide your school transcripts and certificates. For a Master’s Degree, you have to provide your undergraduate transcripts and certificates, And for doctorate degree, you have to provide your both (undergraduate and graduate) transcripts and certificates.
Note: All the applicant’s transcripts and certificates must be notarized and language should be in Chinese or English version.
Police clearance is very important for going to abroad because a foreign country does not allow any criminal records. A Police Clearance Certificate is an official document approved by the police or government agencies to prove that you have no criminal offense against you like arrest, conviction. You must have to fill the original copies in English. The medical examination must include all the items which are listed in the Foreigner Physical Examination Form. Incomplete reports or without the signature of the attending physician and the official stamp of the hospital or a sealed picture of yours are invalid. Medical examination results will be valid for the next 6 months, after 6 months you have to do it again. IELTS is not necessary for all Chinese universities but if you want CSC scholarship English proficiency certificate is very important. If you have done IELTS already then you are welcome to study in China without any delay.
You must have to prepare your CV or resume to study abroad in your desired country. Academic qualifications with results, personal details (name, date of birth, marital status, physical address, national Id or school Id, nationality, language, contact no, etc), reference from your institution’s faculty (his/her name, address, and designation), personal achievement, etc are must for a perfect CV. If you want to apply for MS/Ph.D you must need a study plan or research proposal in Chinese or English (no less than 800 words). A study plan describes in detail what you are going to do with the scholarship. Explain your main educational goal, and how you want to achieve this. And keep it your mind that it is very important, that helps in an excellent organization as well as creating a sense of liability in your learning process. Applicants for all graduate studies need two recommendation letters from full professors or associate professors (in Chinese or English). The professors must have to be your known and obviously, you have completed any course with them. A recommended letter must have to mention about your academic and personal traits and emphasize the strengths that are relevant to the department or university where you are applying. Journal publication is not mandatory for applying Ph.D. When you planned for Ph.D. in china or other countries, journal publication will play a major role in getting admission into a good University and it might help in reducing the length of your Ph.D.
Bank statement is mandatory to show any foreign country for different purposes of a visitor, a business or immigrants. Gap certificate is an affidavit that is used to show a gap in education or further study. Shihezi University School of Medicine, is the predecessor of the PLA first corps health school. In August 1, 1949, the PLA First Field Army liberated Tianshui. The then first corps commander Wang Zhen, also the Minister of Health had initiated the “Pan Shi Zheng schools”, which also included of running hospitals side by side. At the time of Tianshui liberation, Minister Ban, alongwith his Deputy Minister of Health, Wang who was also second by north established the first corps of the Preparatory Committee on Health Schools. This formation helped the people at the workplace to carry out the enrollment form.
In the same year, August 26 the liberation of Lanzhou occurred, within the next two days medical teachers and students were enrolled in medical school in Lanzhou. On September 25, medical school students and teachers conducted an opening ceremony, which was held in Lanzhou City Girls High School Auditorium. This was the day when the School of Health announced the first Corps was formally established. On the day of October 16, 1949, the entire school was ordered to enter Xinjiang. Then the Hami march arrives to Turpan, the Corps indicated two routes into Xinjiang, which was led by the king of the South and by the North. The South Xinjiang Medical Training team was established which consisted of four sub teams, who walked for 43 days from Turpan to Kashgar. Accompanying by the political commissioner of the North which was led by a three brigade of Soviet military aircraft, switched to Hamilton of Duddy (Urumqi). This Third Brigade consisted of 360 students with 24 teaching workers and service personals alongwith health training groups from different regions joined the original logistics headquarters in Xinjiang and established Xinjiang Military Health School.
Later in the year, October 1954, it was changed to Production and Construction Corps Health School and again to Corps Medical College in December, 1959. Back in February 1966, it was renamed to the Medical Corps. In accordance with the instructions given by the Ministry of Education of China, in October 26, 1978, it was officially named as Shihezi Medical College. In 1996, the Shihezi Medical College, College of Agriculture, College of Higher School of Economics Corps, Corps of Teachers College together merged to form Shihezi University, where in Shihezi University, School of Medicine was renamed.
