Wuhan University
Wuhan University is a key university directly under the administration of the Ministry of Education(MOE) of the People’s Republic of China. It is situated in Wuhan, the capital of Hubei Province, and known as “the thoroughfare leading to nine provinces”. The university features spectacular natural surroundings with the scenic Luojia Hill in it and the amazing Eastlake by its side. The school has 346 hectares campus made by wooded and green, and has fragrant flowers everywhere all the year round. The buildings has a special architectural styles, and mansion looking. For this, Wuhan University is acknowledged as one of the most beautiful universities in the world.
The University dates back to Ziqiang Institute, which was established in 1893 by Zhang Zhidong, governor of Hubei and Hunan Provinces in late Qing Dynasty after the Qing Government accepted his memorial to the throne. Later, its name has changed many times before it was named National Wuhan University in July 1928. By the end of 1946, the university had 6 colleges, i.e., the colleges of liberal arts, agriculture, law, sciences, engineering, and medicine. Wuhan University had an innovative tradition and enjoyed a very high academic prestige. With the approval of the State Council of China, new Wuhan University was founded on August 2nd, 2000 with amalgamation of four first-rate universities original Wuhan University, Wuhan University of Hydraulic and Electrical Engineering, Wuhan Technical University of Surveying and Mapping, and Hubei Medical University.
Now, The University has 34 schools in 6 faculties and 3 A-Level Grade Ⅲ associated hospitals, covering 12 areas such as philosophy, History, Sciences, Engineering, Economics, Law, Education, Literature, Agriculture, Medicine, Management and Art, with 122 bachelor degree program, 342 master degree program, 248 doctoral degree programs, and 38 post-doctoral stations. Wuhan University has now over 50,000 students, including 29738 undergraduates, 26073 graduates and 2537 overseas students. The teaching staff consists of around 3,700 teachers, including 2,700 or so professors and associate professors, 11 academicians of Chinese Academy of Sciences, 10 well-known senior scholars of arts and social sciences, 22 lead scientists of the National 973 Project and, 7 academicians of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, 3 academicians of the international Eurasian Academy of Sciences.
In Wuhan University, there are many large well-equipped teaching buildings, swimming pools, archive buildings, laboratories, gymnasiums, sports grounds, and a specimen building. WHU has 5 state-level key laboratories, 10 national bases for basic science talent development, 2 national research centers of engineering, 7 national research centers for humanities and social sciences and,1 national education base for cultural development of university students. The prominence of education has achieve in this school world-wide reputation and booming international exchanges and cooperation in recent years. Wuhan University is recognized by WHO and the graduates of MBBS program are eligible to take the Medical Licensing Examinations held by the medical councils in different countries such as MCI, BMDC, PMDC, USMLE, HPCSA, SCHS etc.
Apply for a course in a Chinese University is very easy. Students just have to follow some steps to apply for their favorite course. In order to help students complete their online application, overseas students are recommended to follow the following simple instructions.
International applicants must provide the following documents to apply:
1. Application Form (fills in Chinese or in English.)
2. Passport & Passport Size Photo (Scan copy of the applicant’s )
- Passport
Dear student, the first thing you need to have a passport. This is more important documents because without a passport you can not go to study in your dream country. To have passport make you secure to live or study abroad. So if you don’t have it, we suggest you make your passport ready from the embassy office in your home country. Moreover if you have your passport already, then make sure your passport expiry date will not be expired. If it already be expired then you need to remake your passport.
- Passport Size Photo
The passport photo size (50mm x 40mm) in general. The photo should be clear and the background must be plain, white or off-white in color. The height of the head should be between 28mm – 33mm.The head width has to be between 21mm–24mm. Submit a color photo, taken in the last 6 months. Use a clear image of your face. Passport photo should not use filters on the face or take your photo from someone else or selfies. Take off your eyeglasses for your photo. Here is the sample of Passport Size Photo.
3. Transcript and Certificate
Applicants for Doctorate Degree have to provide their both (undergraduate and graduate) transcripts and certificates. To note this point that is, transcripts and certificates should be notarized. here is the sample of Notarized Copy.
Note: Transcripts in languages other than Chinese or English must be attached with translation in Chinese or English.
4. CV/Resume
Applicants must have to prepare their CV if they want to study in abroad in their desired country. The Resume or CV should include their academic qualifications with results, personal details (name, date of birth, marital status, national Id or school Id, physical address, contact no, nationality, language, etc), reference from your institution’s faculty (his/her name, address and designation), personal achievement, etc. To know how to make a standard CV please click here the sample of The Resume.
5. Recommendation Letter
Applicants for all graduate studies need two letters of recommendation from full professors or associate professors (in Chinese or English). Letters must include professors’ phone number and email address.
6. Foreign Physical Examination
Applicants are expected to keep the original copies filled in English. The medical examination must cover all the items listed in the Foreigner Physical Examination Form. Incomplete records or those without the signature of the attending physician, the official stamp of the hospital or a sealed photograph of the applicants are invalid. 7. Police Verification (No Criminal Record)
This is also need to have ready for the study purpose. It is important because foreign country does not allow criminal record. A Police Clearance Certificate is an official document approved by the police or government agencies in order to prove that the applicant has no criminal offense against him/her like arrest, conviction. WHU’s Health Science Center was established in 1923. The school includes 5 schools, 6 research centers and 3 A-Level Grade Ⅲ affiliated hospitals.
